ShowBoats International's Cover Article "THE LIVING END" continued

The owners of Delta Marine's latest launch invested much more than money in planning, designing and building exquisite 147-foot Gran Finale.
"This is our fourth boat", the owner states, adding that he started with a 42-foot Posillipo and, like many boat owners, moved up in incremental steps. "Eventually, we decided to built a 66-foot boat in the Northwest, we wanted it to look European. Chris (the owner's captain) said that Ed Monk could design it to look European and incorporate U.S. engineering. We ended up building it at Nordlund with Espinosa as the designer. I ran it myself, but it was a lot of work for my wife, because we have a lot of friends and want them to be with us. So we decided, "Let's get a big boat with a crew." We also wanted our new boat to be curvaceous, so we insisted that the builder utilize a five-axis milling machine for all the molds so the complex rounded forms would be perfectly executed."
